Builder and editor of Best Reaction Test

Mikasa builds and runs Best Reaction Test — writing the code behind the timer, reading the primary research, and checking every published claim against it.

About

I built Best Reaction Test because I wanted a reaction timer that is honest about what it measures. Every number on this site comes with its limits attached: browser scores include device and display latency, and that caveat appears wherever scores are explained.

I write the blog the same way I maintain the tool. Claims are checked against primary research, sources sit next to the numbers they support, and mistakes get corrected in the open. When I am not working on the site, I am usually doing what the blog recommends anyway: five rounds, same device, watching the median instead of the best round.

How I work

  • Scientific claims cite peer-reviewed primary sources, not other blogs.
  • Hardware and browser limits are disclosed next to every score interpretation.
  • Reference data is described as reference estimates, never as first-party user data.
  • Errors reported through the contact page are corrected in the site generator, so every page stays consistent.

The full rules are on the editorial policy page, and the measurement details are on the methodology page.
