Terms and Conditions

These terms govern access to and use of Best Reaction Test, including its browser tools, content, local features, and voluntary public-result feature.

Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using best-reactiontest.com, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site. If you use the site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

The service

Best Reaction Test provides free browser-based reaction-time tools, explanatory articles, research references, local history features, share tools, and an optional public-result feature. No account, purchase, subscription, or payment is currently required. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any feature and do not promise that every feature will always be available.

General-purpose tool only

The site is provided for entertainment, education, general information, and personal tracking. It is not a medical device, diagnostic test, neurological examination, employment assessment, driver-safety assessment, legal or professional advice, or certified sporting timer.

Do not rely on a score to decide whether you are safe to drive, operate equipment, compete, work, take medication, or make a health or safety decision. Use an appropriately qualified professional or certified testing process when a decision matters.

Measurement limitations

A browser result combines your response with display refresh, input-device latency, operating-system scheduling, browser event handling, attention, anticipation, and test conditions. Results can vary across devices and sessions. We do not guarantee laboratory accuracy, device independence, fitness for a particular purpose, or comparability with another website or protocol. Reference percentiles, Reaction Age, animal comparisons, and estimated device corrections are contextual or entertainment features, not diagnoses or biological measurements.

Permitted use and intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, Best Reaction Test owns or licenses the site design, text, graphics, calculations, software, and other original materials. Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to access the site for personal, lawful, non-commercial use.

You may not republish substantial site content, sell or sublicense it, reproduce it to create a competing service, remove attribution or rights notices, or copy, reverse engineer, or exploit protected portions except where applicable law expressly allows it. Third-party research, trademarks, and linked materials remain the property of their respective owners.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • violate applicable law or another person’s rights;
  • introduce malware, probe vulnerabilities, bypass access controls, or interfere with the site or its providers;
  • send abusive, deceptive, automated, or excessive traffic;
  • manipulate, fabricate, or flood public-result submissions;
  • scrape the service in a way that impairs availability or ignores technical restrictions;
  • misrepresent a browser result as a certified, medical, employment, safety, or official sporting record; or
  • use the service or content to deceive, harass, harm, or infringe others.

We may restrict access, remove data, or take protective measures when we reasonably believe these terms, security, or the integrity of the service are at risk.

Local data and optional public submissions

Most result history and preferences are stored locally in your browser. You are responsible for deciding whether to keep or clear that data.

If you choose to publish a result, you confirm that the submitted data is yours to provide and is not deliberately false, abusive, unlawful, or designed to disrupt the dataset. You grant Best Reaction Test a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, validate, deduplicate, aggregate, display, and otherwise use the submitted measurement data to operate, explain, and improve the public statistics feature. The feature is designed for non-identifying results; do not attempt to place personal or sensitive information in a submission.

Comments, accounts, purchases, and communications

The site currently has no public comment area, user-account system, checkout, order processing, paid subscription, or email newsletter. Provisions commonly used for those services do not apply unless such a feature is introduced and the terms are updated. Content posted to the linked GitHub issue tracker is governed by GitHub’s terms and may be publicly visible.

Linking to the site

Search engines, news organizations, educational resources, directories, and other lawful sites may link to public pages without advance approval if the link is accurate, does not imply sponsorship or endorsement, does not use our branding deceptively, and appears in an appropriate context. Other organizations may request clarification through the contact page.

Without written permission, you may not frame the site, reproduce its interface in a way that creates confusion, or use our logo as a link in a manner that suggests affiliation or approval.

External links and third-party services

The site links to research papers, standards, Google services, GitHub, social sharing destinations, and other third parties. It also relies on service providers such as Vercel, Supabase, and Google. We do not control third-party content, availability, security, or privacy practices. A link, citation, directory listing, or technical integration does not by itself constitute endorsement.

Advertising

The site may display advertising, including Google AdSense, to support free access. Advertising must remain distinguishable from publisher content. Advertisers and advertising providers are responsible for their products, claims, and destination pages. Our use of advertising technology is described in the Privacy Policy.

Corrections, link removal, and rights concerns

If you believe site content contains a factual error, infringes rights, or links to objectionable material, send a specific request through the contact page. Include the URL, the material at issue, and supporting information. We will review reasonable requests but do not promise removal, a particular outcome, or an individual response.

Availability and changes

We may update content, calculations, sources, features, or these terms as the service evolves. We do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, complete, or always current. Material changes to these terms will update the date shown above. Continued use after an updated version is posted constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties or conditions of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We disclaim implied warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, and compatibility. Nothing in these terms limits any warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Best Reaction Test and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss, or for lost data, opportunity, revenue, reputation, or use arising from the site, a score, reliance on content, third-party services, or inability to access the service. Nothing excludes liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude, including liability arising from fraud or other non-excludable conduct.

Responsibility for misuse

You are responsible for your use of the site and for consequences caused by unlawful or intentional misuse. To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for reasonable claims and costs resulting from your violation of these terms or another person’s rights.

Severability and applicable law

If a provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply, and the affected provision will be interpreted as closely as lawful to its intended effect. Applicable mandatory consumer and local laws remain in force. Nothing here requires you to waive a right that cannot legally be waived.
